Keasia Daniels was born in Jacksonville, Florida, USA and graduated from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. She continued her studies at Purdue University (Indiana) and graduated in 1995 with a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Engineering & Management. She is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the States of Florida and Texas and a registered Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) by the Association of Project Management, the only globally chartered body for project professionals.
In 2005, Keasia joined Royal Dutch Shell as a Project Services Engineer in cost engineering and planning/scheduling for Downstream capital projects executed by Shell Global Solutions. She later became the Team Lead for Cost Engineering in Houston where she was responsible for resource management and quality delivery for all cost engineers who support upstream, midstream, and downstream capital projects executed from Houston. In 2014, Keasia became the Project Services Manager for Unconventional Shales Projects in Canada, U.S. and Latin America. In 2016, she was named as the Global Project Services Capability Manager, a role which allowed her to focus her passion for people development and training along with her subject matter expertise in project controls and management.
In her culminating role at Shell, General Manager Project Services Americas, Keasia’s team delivered cost estimating, cost control, planning/scheduling, and risk management for capital projects executed in the Downstream Refining & Chemicals, Deepwater, Integrated Gas, Offshore Wind and Renewable Natural Gas lines of business. She managed a team of 50+ staff who supported capital projects from $50 million to over $10 billion.
After a successful 26-year career, in 2021, Keasia retired from corporate life and launched VantagePoint Business Solutions. With VantagePoint, she is able to share her leadership, organizational effectiveness and people development skills with organizations who endeavor to continuously improve, serve the community, develop people and deliver their mission in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
In her early career, Keasia worked in the field of construction management, project controls and civil engineering for companies such as M.W. Kellogg, KBR, and the Public Works Division of the City of Winter Park, FL. She started her career as a field planning engineer for the re-construction of a chemical plant in Sioux City, Iowa. She has worked on teams that executed projects in the US, Canada, Germany, Malaysia and spent part of career as an expat in Skikda, Algeria. Her career has allowed her to contribute to projects in manufacturing, refining/chemicals, LNG, onshore drilling and city/urban development.
Keasia serves on the Marketing Advisory Board for the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International. She is a Fall 2012 graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum and is a Senior Fellow (Class 50) with the American Leadership Forum (Houston/Gulf Coast Chapter).
Keasia was raised by parents who were life‐long educators in the public school system. Although, she did not pursue education as a career, she has been influenced by her parents to have a passion for children and youth. When not working, Keasia spends her free time as a S.T.E.M. advocate encouraging youth to prepare for college and particularly, encouraging girls and youth in under‐represented communities to pursue S.T.E.M. courses and careers.
Keasia is a guild member of The Kaleidoscope Foundation and has served for 8 years as the foundation’s college scholarship coordinator and most recently, as the manager for the foundation’s signature golf tournament. She is a former chapter advisor and current volunteer for the National Society of Black Engineers Junior (NSBE Jr) chapter in Fort Bend County – The S.T.E.A.M. Works. Keasia supports many community service initiatives through her active membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and The Links, Incorporated. She is a member of The Fort Bend Church in Sugar Land, TX where she previously served for 5 years as the ministry leader for the High School / College Ministry.
